Bow and Arrow Pencil HolderThis Bow and Arrow Pencil holder makes a great Valentines gift for someone special. Make sure your pencils are sharpened so that your arrows have a good point! Ages: 6 and Up 
Here's what you'll need... • Clean soup-sized tin can * Instructions for template: The template will open in a new window; close this window when you are done printing to return to the activity page. You will need Adobe Reader to open the template. If you do not have it you can download it for free here. 
Here's how you make it... 1. Cut out a piece of construction paper to fit around your tin can. Decorate it anyway you want. We used foam hearts, you can use markers, crayons, sequins, glitter glue, be creative!
2. Print and cut out the arrow ends template. You are going to make a pocket to slide the pencil into. Put glue on all of parts that stick out and around the outer edges. Don't put glue on the inside or the pocket won't open! Place a toothpick in the center, fold it together and let dry.
3. Once the glue is dry use the toothpick to open the pocket, remove the toothpick and insert the end of the pencil.
4. To make the bow cut your pipe cleaner in half. Twist the two pieces to make one thick one. Cut your rubber band in half and twist it between the two pipe cleaners at one end, and then the other. Twist the pipe cleaner around the rubber band until it's secure.
5. Glue your bow on the outside of the pencil holder. Place your pencils inside and you've created one neat gift for Valentine's Day!
